MacKerricher State Park

Greetings all,
Just a note to ask that you check the calendar for the upcoming guided walks, training opportunities for volunteers, and a volunteer meeting on August 27. Many thanks to MacKerricher Park Interpreter Sarah Ganas for great programs this Summer - still ongoing through Labor Day I believe. Sarah is providing fun learning opportunities for adults and children.

Many thanks to our docent volunteers this Summer for providing extra help including all the newspaper articles by Fran Schwartz, and an interview of Sarah by Andrew. Between a few of us, we have provided guided walk programs twice a month in July and August.

The Abalone Festival planned for October 7 is our biggest fundraiser and we need Abalone Cooks to compete in the cook-off. If you know of someone who enjoys preparing abalone, have them phone Carolyne at (707) 937-4700.

The Visitor Center is open Thurs - Sun 10A - 3PM and you can stop by or phone Bob and Vicki, our great Park Hosts, (ph 707 964-8898)for schedule details in the Park.

I hope to see you at MacKerricher enjoying this (mostly) sunny Summer.

Marilyn
