Greetings
We are pleased to welcome our new Park Interpreter, Sarah, to MacKerricher State Park. Today Sarah and Ranger Natalie helped several new volunteers complete their required applications to become official State Park volunteers and help with harbor seal monitoring. Lunch was provided by MacKerricher's new Liaison, Carolyne Cathey. Carolyne is working part-time at MacKerricher assisting Ranger Natalie, MacKerricher volunteers, and now Sarah with the coordination and growth of our educational programs.

Thanks to all of you. It has been a busy season for harbor seal pups. Many have been 'parked' in popular beach areas at MacKerricher by their mothers while moms go fishing. The potential for human interference is high and I would like to thank all the volunteers from the Marine Mammal Center, MacKerricher and other local volunteers who have taken their time to watch out for these vulnerable pups.

MacKerricher's volunteer core should plan to meet soon to prepare for more tidepool groups arriving daily. Let's get together and respond quickly when Carolyne gets a message to us about a meeting. Carolyne is proving to be a great help in coordinating the many people helping this season.
